My name is Stephanie and I have a Masters degree in Osteopathy from the British School of Osteopathy, London. I am also qualified in Medical Acupuncture (dry needling) and I am fully insured and registered with the General Osteopathic Council. After completeing training in Applied Functional Science on the GIFT mentorship programme with the Gray Institute, I have become fascinated with movement and started to integrate movement biomechanics alongside traditional Osteopathic techniques in my treatment sessions.
I have also become an AiM practitioner after training with Gary Ward and Anatomy in Motion. The AiM philosophy is all about looking at you as an individual, taking into account your posture, your movement, your history and figuring out the root cause of the problem, not just treating the symptoms. I am able to assess your gait and movement biomechanics and figure out what areas need treatment in order to create balance and reduce compensatory patterns of pain and strains elsewhere. Where your pain is, might not necessarily be where the problem is!
My treatment approach is very hands on, using a varied mixture of movement orientated and plinth based treatments. To help your body to move better, we have to get your body moving! I do also use more traditional Osteopathic methods such as soft tissue massage and gentle joint mobilisation techniques and often include Medical Acupuncture for pain relief and muscular problems. The goal is to get your body functioning as optimally and efficiently as possible, and I will choose the most appropriate techniques to get you there.
I absolutely love my job and feel really passionate about helping people to feel and move better. I enjoy working with all injuries – new and old, sport related or not, pre & post surgery rehabilitation, stress induced tension, chronic injury’s/mobility issues, pre & post natal problems and work related aches and pains. Each treatment is catered specifically to each persons individual needs and goals, whatever they may be.
I believe that improving the overall health of an individual can enhance their healing potential. Alongside many nutritional qualifications, I am a certified GAPS practitioner, and am able to provide natural, bespoke nutritional management targeted towards addressing digestive problems, nutritional imbalances and improving overall health and wellness.
